Happy Easter weekend everyone! What are you up to? We’ve kicked ours off with our best day this year laughing and dancing at Pippa and Pete’s wedding!
Mr H and I have quite a few weddings this year so I’m trying to get a bit creative about what to wear. This time I went with the statement green floral suit from Boden (obvs).
Pompom bag- Christmas present
I decided to wear it when Boden launched their February catalogue, and I knew I needed to find a cami to wear underneath. Even though I had ample time to prepare I had visions of popping into any store on our great British high street and being confronted with a plethora of choice in every colour of the rainbow. So I left it until half 6 the night before to get one. I braved Topshop Oxford Street, then John Lewis, & Other Stories, H&M… Nothing… As I can’t walk down Regent Street without wandering around the entire Anthropologie store I tried a patterned number in there. I was unsure if a patterned top with a bold stripe hem really was the best option for the already quite lurid suit but figured I’d buy it as a back up before heading to Zara (which I was sure would be a fail safe choice). Regrettably by this time it was just past 8 and all the shops were shut. Hum.
I think tucked in it worked and generally added to the mega pattern effect I was going for.
Vogue told me that if you are wearing florals to weddings you should try to punk it up with metallic jewellery so I went for massive gold hoops.
There are some great patterned two pieces in the market right now- here are some of my other favourites.
The wedding was spectacular. Clever, creative, brilliant Pippa did such a fantastic job. She has such an incredible eye and attention to detail. The salmon starter goes straight to the top of the best wedding food hall of fame ever, and my sides are aching from laughing so much at both the bride and the groom’s speeches. Thank you so so much.
